Jericho, situated near the Dead Sea, is both the lowest and the longest continually inhabited city in the world.
As such Jericho can be seen to represent the ‘ways of man’ or ‘man’s government’.
Jericho was the first city to fall upon Israel’s entering into the Promised Land – we cannot serve God and man in the Kingdom.
Jericho was overcome by His Light… note the march around the city was led by the Priests… and the prevalence of the number 7 (Spiritual Perfection/Light) in the account (Joshua 6).
The conquest of the Promised Land/Canaan is by the power of God – manifested by His people acting in synchronicity with Him.
